STALIN, MAO, Muhammed

I have read many respected books on Stalin, Hitler, Mao and other figures driven by ideology, power and the desire to kill. I strongly feel that Muhammed fits more closely with these than with religious/philosophical leaders who provided perceptual change such as Confucius, Buddha and the Christ figure. Muhammed, who led armies, ordered massacres and slept with prepubescent  girls is the obvious progenitor of Isis, not of an ethical world of love, tolerance and inclusivity. Islam accords you these if you accept Allah-otherwise you receive indifference, cheating, loathing and death.

Religion is not about negatives, so prevalent in Islam, but positives.

milliband, etc-last bite

With reference to my recent blogs:

Islam can no more be given a special place in this or any other society. Any politician who aids the self-delusion of Moslems regarding their religion should be avoided. In Britain we would not give such rights to fundamentalist Christians, so why an equally bad religious group? Throughout most of its history, Islam has been anti-intellectual, anti-creativity, concentrating on the burblings of a violent and sex obsessed, uneducated religious megalomaniac. Our obsession, as a specie, with violent, forceful types-Mohammed, Mao, Stalin, Hitler-should properly cease.

The idea that Islam brings correct behaviour into society is part of that delusion. It has a narrow, depressing view of morality. Its belief that it is a religion of peace is hardly confirmed by either the koran or its arrogant imams, demanding death at every turn. Violence should have absolutely no place in religion.

Islam's focus upon belligerent, politically obsessed imams, strange for some like myself brought up in a culture that separates religion and politics, its confusion between politics, social control and religion, should make even naïve politicians like Milliband be more careful when offering it support.

milliband and islam

One further and perhaps last point on this matter-

A colleague of mine was teaching English in a children's summer camp. Part of the course involved evolution or another accepted scientific matter, perhaps the existence of Pluto. A Moslem child immediately left the group, saying as it was not in the Koran it could not be true. Remember, many Moslem children are taught the Koran from about three and told it is the final word. The teacher was reprimanded and lost his job.

In Miliband's world, would he have also gone to prison?

Miliband, Islam, Freespeech

Further to Milliband's desire to outlaw 'Islamaphobia', an added problem here is a re-definition of free speech that will in effect re-establish blasphemy laws. People would simply not be able to reference Islam without being open to accusations of prejudice.

Prejudice is herein re-defined. A dislike of Islam would be considered unlawful. It is a silencing of opinion and judgement.

Bulgarian woman: bogus qualifications, cheats, bogus lecturers and work colleagues

Bulgarian woman, in sales office:

I worked hard for my Masters. I studied night and day under a British university and now, here in London, everyone seems to have one. But they have no knowledge. How can that be?

Me: Cheating. Their Masters are bogus.

Bulgarian: How? How can that be?

Me: They got them from bogus colleges. Private colleges. They'd get other people to write them or take the words off the internet, you know, copy and paste.

Bulgarian: I feel ridiculous. All my hard work for nothing.

Me: Not for nothing. At least you know you got your qualifications honestly.

Bulgarian: But I've got nowhere and some of them have good jobs.

Me: Well, hopefully it will catch up with them. In time, hopefully it will.

Bulgarian: Its all so sad. Rubbish about cheats never prospering.

What could I say to her as these cheats are everywhere brandishing their dubious qualifications.  I've met enough in colleges where I've worked. Ignorant, arrogant types with degrees.

Miliband and islam-2

and prayer, many of whom live their lives with one foot in heaven and the other in this life (seen as family and group), its core beliefs require considerable scrutiny. Although Islam has covered many parts of Asia, it has largely done so through violence-through the sword.

Miliband and Corbyn (I suspect) view Islam as a victim group in society and probably have little real acquaintance with its beliefs. Are they aware of its rejection of others? Are they aware of its refusal to reject violence? Are they aware that its core beliefs reject the values of liberal society putting in place crude notions of gender difference, the need to control women's sexuality-and-and-the sheer boredom of Moslem lives? Repetition, conformity, ignorance!

miliband and islam-part 1

Miliband's assertion prior to his ignominious defeat was that he would legislate against Islamaphobia. How did he define this, I wonder?

Was it, as it is for many Moslems, criticism of their religion? If so, he was prepared to allow Moslems a special place in British society not afforded to any other religious or cultural group.
Did this involve a critique of their religion, which I find oppressive, primitive and depressing. Like many religions, its roots can be traced. Not god, but man, I'm afraid.

Was it according to what stray imams or flag-wavers decided it was?

Thereby, an Islamic atrocity would not be called so as it points a finger at all Moslems. To say it is Islamist because they are Moslems is thereby considered wrong, even if those committing the atrocity declare it was done to defend Islam and protect their faith. Double-speak.

If atrocities are done in the name of Christianity-the religion I grew up in- I would feel burdened to discover why such atrocities were being done and also attempt to distance myself from such a belief system, not pretend the atrocities had nothing to do with such a system.

Many Moslems hold that their faith is superior. While its spiritual mechanisms are evident, displayed through clothing

What worries me?-ROB

Is it the stars,
flaky indicators of time,
or the black holes they conceal
that worries me so?

WINTER-poem-ROB

In the garden near the groaning sycamore tree, the young boy wept
 his tears like
slow, thin, undulating brooks, running through darkening tree
his sighs
like breezes full of morning frost and glistening dew
      his movement
like the fox in its nervous darting through the undergrowth.
     Staccato light
broke through the canopy in sudden rushes of warmth
filling
his mangled, broken and desiccated soul as he rose and returned
to
the snarling, unkempt, excluded, rumbling village
hidden
between wild fields of wind-tossed, rushed and unsettled wheat
and
vast fields of maturing potato, peas and fruit-
raspberry, blackberry, plumb and strawberry.
Here
he lived in graceless solitude, amongst the ignorant.
Gloom
spreading its ashen features into hut and home
over field and hill,
glen, lake, stream and pond
as
the steely, deadly, grey and black grasp of early Winter
takes charge
of village, the land and its people.
It
was a time of struggle, of want, of hardship,
a
time of dying.

poem by rob

it was a sore
that grew in size, a
corrosive cancer-
that licked at the heart of things
until it became
me-
I should have forgiven
I should have let it be.
I should have known only laughter
but I let
the hatred grow.
I now rejoice in the gloom.
